The Filipino Community of Georgia is in full support of AACG's efforts to raise funds for "Relief for Haiti". For our part, we are partnering with the NBA and the Atlanta Hawks and are having a Filipino Hoops and Heritage Night on March 5, 2010 during the Hawks and Golden State Warriors' game. The Atlanta Hawks are donating $2 for every ticket sold through our web link: www.philipsarena.com/filipino

By joining us on March 5, 2010 at 7:30 pm, we accomplish the following;

* donate $2 for every ticket we buy and/or sell, to the "Relief for Haiti"
* we gain the publicity for the Asian American community of Georgia.

There will be about 20,000 NBA fans at the Philips Arena that night. If we come with our "Relief for Haiti" t-shirts, all eyes will be focused on us when they announce that part of the proceeds for that night will go to the "Relief for Haiti" fund.

Please see the flyer for this event to the right. Please forward to your network and encourage them to buy their tickets through: www.philipsarena.com/filipino. We get to watch our favorite sport and help Haiti at the same time. What is priceless is the visibility we can gain from this event.

The Filipino-American community of Georgia has so far donated $1,400 to the Haiti fund through Corpus Christi Catholic church in Stone Mountain when we celebrated the feast of Santo Nino (Child Jesus) last January 24, 2010. Atlanta Archbishop Milton Gregory con-celebrated the mass with two Filipino priests that day. ' '>
